About multiplane TEE transducers
Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) transducers are mounted at the tip of a flexible, gastroscope-like shaft and image the heart from the esophagus. Because the probe sits close to the heart without the ribs and lungs in the way, TEE provides high-resolution views of cardiac structures such as the valves and atria. Multiplane TEE probes can rotate the imaging plane to obtain multiple views without repositioning the probe.
